Michael L. Dahlenburg is a criminal defense attorney in the Waco office of Dunham & Jones. Licensed in Texas since 1990, he has tried at least 200 cases to a jury and handled several thousand cases over a career that has covered criminal defense, family law, child protection, probate, employment, patent, and real estate matters.
Mr. Dahlenburg ran a solo general practice in Houston and Galveston for 25 years. He then spent five years in solo practice in McLennan, Limestone, Freestone, and Leon Counties, handling criminal defense, family law, and Child Protective Services cases. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he served as general counsel for a Houston-area chemical company before joining Dunham & Jones.
He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Accounting, summa cum laude, from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, and his Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law Houston in 1989, finishing in the top 25 percent of his class. In Galveston he served as president of the Galveston County Bar Association and founded the Galveston County Bar Foundation. He has also served on the State Bar of Texas Local Bar Services Committee, and he has directed many continuing legal education seminars and been a speaker at dozens.
Mr. Dahlenburg's goal with every client is steady, clear communication. He works to make sure clients understand every part of their case, honestly and as it develops.
Outside the office, Mr. Dahlenburg is a commercial pilot with an instrument rating. He has served as worship leader and technical director for a number of churches, and he plays keyboard and synthesizer and sings at First United Methodist Church in Waco.
